Dolly Parton Discusses Netflix Movie, Christmas On The Square

Dolly herself plays an angel in the Netflix Christmas movie.

She told the Christian Post that the movie shares messages of restoration and forgiveness. Which Dolly says are more relevant today than ever before, given everything that is going on in the world.

“There’s a lot to be said about forgiveness; it cleans you for other good stuff to come in,” said Parton, 74.

“If you go around with a bunch of hate and anger and bottled up stuff in you, you can’t blossom, as a person, you’re not doing yourself any favors or anyone else. It’s just so much better to forgive.”

“And of course, we can’t forget; we still remember things. But I think when they say ‘forgive and forget,’ that just means to forget about that now and move on,” she continued.

“I really think that that’s so important to cleanse your own heart and your own soul, to be able to forgive and to ask forgiveness. You never should be too proud to ask for forgiveness.”

Christmas On The Square Is A Movie We Need Right Now

Christmas On The Square stars Christine Baranski as a bitter, wealthy older woman who returns to her small hometown after the death of her father.

It quickly becomes clear that she is planning to evict everyone from the tiny town so that she can sell the land to a mall developer.

“The deadline to be out of your homes is now Christmas Eve,” Baranski’s character tells the heartbreaking locals as they gathered in the town’s church.

However, after listening to the stories of the townspeople, including a young pastor, reconnecting with an old flame, and getting advice from an angel, Baranski’s character changes her tune.

With America more divided than ever before about things like politics and the coronavirus, this is exactly the kind of movie that we need right now!

Dolly Parton’s Biggest Gift Might Be Her Part In Funding COVID-19 Vaccine

The “Jolene” singer has just been full of gifts and surprises this season. She treated her fans not to only this new Netflix movie musical Christmas On the Square, but also her first Christmas album in years “A Holly Dolly Christmas”.

As if this wasn’t enough, fans soon learned that the indomitable Dolly Parton helped to fund Moderna’s new COVID-19 vaccine, which is said to be 94.5% effective against coronavirus in preliminary findings.

In fact, Dolly donated $1 million to coronavirus research back in April, and it paid off in a big way!

“I’m just happy that anything I do can help somebody else, and when I donated the money to the Covid fund, I just wanted it to do good,” Parton told TODAY. “Evidently, it is. Let’s just hope we find a cure real soon.”

God bless Dolly Parton for giving back to all of us in so many ways!
