Marcin Tybura recorded one of the biggest wins of his career to date, at UFC Fight Island 5, by outscoring veteran heavyweight contender, Ben Rothwell.

Round one

Rothwell came out pressuring, as usual, behind heavy shots. Tybura looked to counter and scored with some hard shots of his own. Both heavyweights continued to come with punches and very few kicks. Rothwell appeared to stagger Tybura with a huge right later in the round but the latter returned fire a moment later. In the final moments of the round, the two fired in punches from the clinch, before breaking apart.

Round two

The heavyweights continued to wing heavy punches to begin round two. Rothwell chased Tybura down and clinched up. Tybura worked his way free and the heavy volume of strikes continued. Tybura changed levels later in the round but Rothwell shrugged it off. Tybura tagged Rothwell with a hard shot moments later that may have stunned the latter. As the round ended, Rothwell was still moving forward, firing a steady stream of strikes.

Round three

Tybura appeared to be the fresher of the fighter as the third round started. The two continued to fire away, but a couple of minutes in, Tybura took Rothwell to the floor. Tybura worked from the top position for a fair amount of time, and landed some strikes from above. Tybura controlled the position for the remainder of the fight and bloodied Rothwell with shots from the top.

Entertaining fight. Tybura gets the UD win.
