UFC 254: Alexander Volkov Puts Away Walt Harris

Alexander Volkov returned to the win column in impressive fashion today at UFC 254, by stopping Walt Harris in round two.

Round one

Volkov came out pressuring and Harris fired some hard hooks while countering. Volkov planted a stiff counter right moments later. Volkov stung Harris with a nice jab not long after. Harris scored with big right in an ensuing exchange but Volkov continued to move forward. Late in the round, Volkov tagged Harris with a hard right that staggered him. Volkov followed up with a series of punches but Harris battled through it.

Round two

Harris feinted a level change moments in round two. Moments later, Harris dove in for a take down but Volkov shrugged it off. Volkov fired in a front kick to the solar plexus of Harris second later that hurt him badly. Volkov swarmed in with more punches and the fight was called. Impressive win for the former Bellator champ.

Volkov, who turned 32 today, was fighting for the first time since he lost via decision to Curtis Blaydes in June.
