NASCAR Kyle Larson suspension N-word team lifted

Kyle Larson has reportedly been cleared to make his return to NASCAR in 2021 after his April suspension for using the n-word during a virtual racing event.

Now, the question on everyone’s mind is which team will sign the young driver. At least one rumor has already been put to bed.

Kyle Larson Reinstated By NASCAR Following N-Word Suspension

ESPN reported that in the months since 28-year-old Larson was suspended for using the n-word during an online racing livestream, he has been immersing himself in diversity programs that aimed to show him the error in his ways.

He did not even apply to be reinstated to NASCAR until last week, and he was officially cleared on Monday.

“The work I’ve done over the last six months has had a major impact on me,” Larson said in a statement. “I will make the most of this opportunity and look forward to the future.”

NASCAR Releases A Statement

Monday afternoon, NASCAR released a statement defending the decision to reinstate Larson.

“NASCAR continues to prioritize diversity and inclusion across our sport,” NASCAR said. “Kyle Larson has fulfilled the requirements set by NASCAR and has taken several voluntary measures to better educate himself so that he can use his platform to help bridge the divide in our country.”

“Larson’s indefinite suspension has been lifted. Under the terms of his reinstatement, he will be cleared to return to all NASCAR racing activities effective January 1, 2021,” NASCAR’s statement added.

Following his scandal, Larson found himself dropped by his sponsors and fired by Chip Ganassi Racing, who he had spent eight seasons with.

Prior to that, Larson had been considered to be a major player in the future of NASCAR, so he will likely have his pick of cars going into the next season.

One of the sponsors that Larson lost was Chevrolet, a brand that released a brief statement after he was reinstated.

“Chevrolet fully supports NASCAR’s efforts to provide an inclusive environment for all race fans. Since Kyle Larson has met the criteria set forth for his return to the series, we support NASCAR’s decision,” Chevrolet said.

Which Team Will Sign Kyle Larson?

Rumors had initially swirled that Tony Stewart was interested in signing Larson to Stewart-Haas Racing.

These rumors were fueled by the fact that Stewart was one of Larson’s few outspoken defenders in the NASCAR world.

However, the rumors were dashed on Tuesday, when Stewart announced Chase Briscoe as the driver of the No. 14 in 2021.

It has since been reported that Larson is heading to the No. 5 with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2021 season.

While we certainly don’t condone the use of the n-word, Larson made amends and took his punishment.

This young man does not deserve to have the entirety of his life ruined simply for his misstep. Especially given the driver subsequently apologized for using the word over and over again.

We’re glad to see that NASCAR has made the decision to allow Kyle Larson to be reinstated.

And we hope the politically correct left finally lets him move on with his life and career.
