Kathie Lee Gifford Comments On Son-In-Law’s Too-Tight Pants On ‘Family Feud’ [VIDEO]

This week a clip went viral from the “Celebrity Family Feud” episode featuring actress and talk show host Kathie Lee Gifford and her family. In the now viral clip, the camera zooms in on Kathie Lee Gifford’s son-in-law Ben Wierda, who happens to be the nephew of Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, revealing pants that are way too tight.

Kathie Lee Gifford Comments On Son-In-Law’s Viral ‘Family Feud’ Clip

While appearing on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” on Tuesday night, Gifford was asked if she had noticed the wardrobe malfunction.

“You were on Celebrity Family Feud last week with your family,” Cohen said. “Have you seen the little moment that is going viral of your son-in-law realizing that his pants are incredibly tight?”

Gifford first rolled her eyes at the question, but she quickly made it clear that she intended to play along.

 “Yes, I have seen it,” Gifford said before joking that she was happy it didn’t happen to her own son Cody. 

“It’s Cassidy’s husband, whom I adore,” the longtime television host explained. “But none of us realized it. We were playing the game, for goodness sakes. And we get very, very excited about it, and –”

“He looked like he was excited about it, too!” Cohen exclaimed.

“That’s what I’m saying!” added Gifford, with a big smile on her face. “But she said to him, I guess, earlier before that whole thing started, she said, ‘You’re going to wear those on television? They’re awfully tight.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, they’re fine.’”

She went on to say that her daughter and son-in-law were stunned to wake up the next day to find that the “Celebrity Family Feud” clip had gone viral. 

“They woke up the next day after it aired the other day to this firestorm of publicity,” Gifford said with a laugh. “It couldn’t happen to two better [people] — he’s an incredible, good guy. And he’s got one of the best — they’ve both have an outrageous sense of humor. We all do in our family. And all they’ve been doing is laughing about it ever since. So it’s all good.”

At least they’re having fun with it! When you end up in a situation like that, all you can do is laugh. 

A Tribute To Regis Philbin

While this was a fun moment from Kathie Lee Gifford’s interview with Andy Cohen, things got serious when she paid tribute to her late former co-host Regis Philbin.

America mourned when Regis tragically passed away earlier this year in July at the age of 88.

“Every day was fun with Regis. He was bigger than life. No one talks about themselves by their own name,” she recalled. “He would enter any room—whether it was a huge auditorium or just him and me going to lunch—he would enter going ‘Regis is here!'”

“It was always a party with Reg,” Gifford added. “He lived to make everybody happy. I think that’s why ultimately he was ready to go from his world. He couldn’t go anywhere and be Regis. He couldn’t make people happy anymore.”
