Conor McGregor

There’s certainly reasons to be skeptical that it won’t happen, but Conor McGregor has shared out a poster, for the charity match he recently proposed with Dustin Poirier.

McGregor takes next step, shares out poster for Poirier rematch

In the last week or so McGregor has been making headlines on account of various tweets he’s posted. Late last week he posted what were apparently images of a text exchange he had with Dana White this past March, in which McGregor was pushing for another fight.

Then McGregor also tweeted out that he’s boxing Pacquiao next, and more recently, he asked Poirier if he’d be interested in fighting for charity. Poirier, who lost to McGregor back in 2014, said he’s down for the rematch.

Well, since all that transpired, White has claimed the UFC has sent out offers for McGregor – Poirier 2. But in the meantime, McGregor tweeted out the comments and poster below.

“Martial art sparring match in aid of charity. Dublin, December 12th 2020.
Free to air spar. McGregor vs Poirier.
List of chosen charities available soon. All donations welcome”

Thoughts?

Now, since McGregor and Poirier are under contract with the UFC, it would be pretty surprising if the two could agree to fight, for charity or not.

But, it is interesting to see here that McGregor is using the words “sparring” and “spar”.

In other words, if this charity match does happen, one could infer based on that it won’t be a full-out, fight.

Or, could we see the rematch go down in the Octagon? Under the UFC banner?
