Colin Kaepernick Scores Major Honor With This Hall Of Fame Induction

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is set to be inducted into the University of Nevada’s Athletics Hall of Fame. This is just the latest move to honor and give more press to the out-of-work NFL quarterback and his social justice campaign.

Colin Kaepernick To Be Inducted Into College’s Hall Of Fame

Fox News reported that the school announced on Friday that Kaepernick is one of six alumni of the institution that will be inducted.

“The 2020 Hall of Fame class represents some of the best of the best in Wolf Pack history,” Athletics Director Doug Knuth said in a statement.

“This is an incredible collection of accomplished student-athletes and we can’t wait for the opportunity to welcome them back to campus and celebrate their careers.”

Kaepernick spent four years playing football for the University of Nevada before he began his career in the NFL.

Over the course of his career with the school, Kaepernick had “10,098 passing yards and 82 touchdown passes, as well as 4,112 rushing yards and 59 rushing touchdowns,” according to Fox.

Colin Kaepernick’s NFL Career

Back in 2011, Kaepernick was drafted by the 49ers in the second round.

Fast forward a few years later to 2016, Kaepernick makes headlines by taking a knee during the national anthem before his games.

Though the quarterback claimed to be kneeling as a protest against police brutality, many saw the move as a clear sign of disrespect to the American flag and those who have fought and died for it.

Then Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the 49ers at the end of 2016. He has not been signed by another team since.

The University of Nevada repeated the claim that Kaepernick has not been signed again since due to “what appears to many observers to be a reaction to his civil rights activism.”

Many liberals, including Kaepernick himself, have pushed this narrative that he has been “blacklisted” by the NFL because of his social justice protests, suggesting that the league itself is “racist.”

Others, however, continue to point back to Kaepernick’s abysmal losing record as quarterback during his final season with the 49ers.

Those people ask if it’s a lack of football ability that kept him from being signed, not racism.

More Accolades

It’s one thing for the University of Nevada to honor Colin Kaepernick for his athlete record. But it’s another thing entirely for them to celebrate his false martyr narrative as a victim of racism in the NFL.

Kaepernick has shown time and time again that he is far more interested in obtaining fame and fortune for himself than he is in both playing in the NFL again and in actually helping others.

I can think of far better and more honorable football players than Colin Kaepernick who deserve to be in a Hall of Fame.

It will be interesting to see how University of Nevada alumni feel about this decision.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
