Lori Loughlin prison

Lori Loughlin is not receiving many public messages of support from her former Hollywood friends as she is set to begin her prison sentence next month for her role in the college admissions scandal. Though Loughlin was a working actress for decades, most of the people in the industry who she once called friends have distanced themselves from her and refrained from supporting her publicly.

That’s why it had to have been a touching moment for Loughlin this week when her former “Full House” costar Bob Saget spoke out to offer his support for his old friend on a public platform.

In August, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison on charges related to her allegedly paying $500,000 in bribe money. The money was to have her two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team. However, neither girl had ever rowed before.

Bob Saget Supports Loughlin

In a new interview with Page Six, Saget revealed that he texted Loughlin immediately after her sentencing to let her know that she is supported and loved.

“I love you and thinking of you, that’s all,” he said he wrote.

“And you know when it gets down to it, there’s so much going on and so many people have gone through so much and you know … if you love somebody then you have to make that, decision and [ask yourself] is this something that causes me not to love a person and I love her,” he explained. “She’s a sweetheart.”

Saget Has Defended Her Before

Saget has had Loughlin’s back from the very beginning of this scandal. A year ago, he explained why he had no intention of allowing the college admissions scandal to get in the way of his friendship with Loughlin.

“I love the people I love, and people go through life, and stuff happens,” Saget said in an interview. “For a while, I was saying, ‘No comment,’ and now there’s just no point in talking about it because I’ve answered it. What I would say is, I love the people I love, and I have empathy for people that are in my life for 35 years. I don’t cut people out.”

“I’ve never had any friends growing up,” he added. “So, I’m lucky to have any in the first place.”

We applaud Saget for standing by his friend so steadfastly!

There’s no denying that what Loughlin did was wrong, but we all make mistakes in life. It’s important that the people who were friends with Loughlin before this scandal broke continue to support her through this difficult time.

Loughlin is one lucky woman to have a friend like Bob Saget in her corner.
