Earlier this week, we reported that Bill Cosby’s latest mugshot had gone viral. Cosby’s Team Shares New Photo

Now, Cosby’s team has responded by posting a new photo. They’re claiming that they did so to “reassure his family and supporters” that the disgraced comedian is doing all right.

“This photo was taken by his publicist, Andrew Wyatt, during his first virtual video conference call with Mr. Cosby last week,” the photo was captioned. “We are posting this to reassure his family and supporters that he is doing ok during this pandemic.”

Internet Divided Over Cosby

Fox News reported that Cosby, 83, is serving a three-to-10 year prison sentence for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.

Despite the fact that dozens of other women have accused Cosby of similar crimes, some social media users expressed sympathy for him after his latest mugshot was shared online.

“Man Free Bill. He is only in jail because he black and was about to buy CBS. Yall stay saying protect black women but black men are not protected,” one fan wrote on Instagram, with another adding, “How is this man any threat to society. He can serve the balance of his sentence on probation or house arrest.”

Others, however, were sickened by the fact that people were showing sympathy to a convicted rapist.

“The shade room posted Bill Cosby’s mugshot today and the comments were filled with people saying Free Bill. Do y’all ever think of how the victims feel? This man drugged and raped them and now they have to get on the internet and see thousands of strangers saying free him. Smh,” one person tweeted.

“The reason Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby are each old while they’re in prison is b/c it took decades for their victims to get justice,” another user added. “If your sympathy lies w/ rapists instead of survivors, ask yourself why.”

Cosby Was Convicted, Remains In Prison

Dozens of women have accused him of some of the most unspeakable crimes imaginable. And, he was convicted of three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Since his conviction, Cosby has shown no remorse. He chooses to push wild conspiracy theories about his innocence instead of taking responsibility for his own actions.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
