Tim Tebow pray Brandon Berry epilepsy baseball

A man with epilepsy who Tim Tebow prayed over four years ago during a baseball game reports that he is now free of seizures.

Former NFL quarterback turned pro baseball player Tim Tebow is a proud man of God. His Christianity defines him as a man, a husband, and an athlete.

Can faith really work miracles? That’s what some believe after hearing 34-year-old Brandon Berry’s story.

Tim Tebow Prays Over Man With Epilepsy

Brandon Berry’s seizures put limitations on his life. He was not even permitted to drive.

However, his life changed dramatically when he attended an Arizona Fall League contest in October 2016. Tim Tebow was playing his first game with the Scottsdale Scorpions.

Amazingly, just hours earlier, Berry had rededicated his life to Christ. He’d met a man in the stands who was speaking with a reporter about God.

Berry had been a Christian but was losing his faith as he felt he was being punished by having epilepsy.

The condition appeared after Berry suffered a mild traumatic brain injury in a pool when he was 17.

“When I started having epilepsy, I was just really depressed. There was a moment in my life where the seizures were just really painful to me. When I lost one of my best friends, I just got really depressed. I had a seizure at a funeral for a friend’s son that passed away and I felt really embarrassed. And at that time, I wanted to end my life.”

He was searching for direction and would fill that void with alcohol and gambling. He even had suicidal thoughts.

His conversation with the man in the stands was just the beginning of a life change.

“He told me that God loves me. We went over Scripture and we prayed and I rededicated my life in the stands that day. A couple of hours later, I started feeling ill and getting a metal taste in my mouth right there on the third baseline. I tried my best to get on the ground or somewhere where I would be safe. The seizure happened and blacked out. I woke up to Tim [Tebow] praying over me.”

Tebow continued praying over Berry until paramedics arrived. Video of this prayerful encountered can be seen below.

The baseball event garnered some big headlines, but it had an even bigger long term effect on Berry’s life. He witnessed God working through people for his health and that led to a complete change.

Now, nearly four years later, Berry’s health has improved so dramatically that he even has a driver’s license.

Brandon Berry Credits God, Healthy Choices, and DDP Yoga

Berry is grateful to God that he has been free of seizures for two years. He is able to drive and is working toward beginning a new career as an EEG technician.

He found his church home and worked toward improving his health by changing his diet and starting DDP Yoga.

Berry learned about DDP Yoga, which is a fitness program and company run by former professional wrestler Diamond Dallas Page, from a podcast hosted by wrestler Chris Jericho.

“When I was in North Carolina visiting my grandma, I had a seizure in the shower. I was tired of feeling hopeless and tired of having these seizures and prayed to God that they would just stop,” he recalled. “The next morning I started DDP Yoga. Ever since then I haven’t had a seizure.”

Tim Tebow Stays In Touch With Brandon Berry

“I think God is a big factor in all this,” Berry says. “I have been building a relationship with Him. My prayer life wasn’t that great. I just have been praying to Him and building that relationship has eased a lot of stuff in my life.”

Tim Tebow still keeps in touch with the man he prayed over that October day in 2016. He reaches out to check in on Berry.

Berry said:

“He just reaches out to say hi and see how I am doing.”

Brandon Berry also went to the Tim Tebow Foundation Golf Tournament outside of Jacksonville in March 2018.

What an amazing story! God is good.
