It looks like the UFC may have to do some serious scrambling, as its being reported that Glover Teixeira has tested positive for COVID-19. The light heavyweight was booked to fight fellow contender, Thiago Santos in the main event of its September 12th card.

Teixeira tests positive for COVID-19

The Brazilian outlet Combate was reportedly the first outlet to report that Teixeira has tested positive for the coronavirus, and as a result, he will not fight Santos at UFC Vegas 10. MMA Junkie has also been informed by sources that Teixeira has tested positive for COVID-19 and will no longer fight Santos on the 12th.

The bout is reportedly being pushed to the UFC’s October 3rd event. But, it remains to be seen what fight will serve as the main event for UFC Vegas 10.

A strawweight fight between Michelle Waterson and Angela Hill is currently set as the co-headliner.

Teixeira (31-7) is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, and in his last outing this past May, he stopped Anthony Smith.

The UFC had only just recently, released the official poster for the September 12th card, which featured Teixeira and Santos.
