Francisco Jose Vinuelas Borras has quite the opportunity ahead of him at WLC: Lethwei Showcase.

Set for September 25 from Yangon, Mynamar, Vinuelas will square off with Antonio Faria for the World Lethwei Championship light welterweight title. The event will stream live on UFC Fight Pass, Canal+ and other broadcast partners across 100 countries.

The bout marks the Lethwei debut of Vinuelas, but he is far from a newcomer to the combat sports world.

A veteran of the Chinese mixed martial arts and kickboxing world, Vinuelas has spent the past two decades competing against the best of the best. Now, he will do so for WLC on the biggest stage possible.

WLC: Lethwei Showcase

Vinuelas has over 60 official bouts to his resume after starting out in Vale Tudo competitions as a teenager. From there, he began focusing on mixed martial arts and will now take all of those talents in Lethwei.

The 36-year-old Spaniard now fights out of Wenzhou, China after being born in Moncada, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain. His last official bout came in July of last year.

There is no tougher opponent for your Lethwei debut than Faria, who owns the most knockouts in WLC history and has yet to even reach the final bell for a decision. He has become well-known for his finishes.

Back at WLC Mighty Warriors this past February, Faria defeated Saw Htoo Aung to become the first-ever WLC light welterweight champion. This will mark his first defense.

The event will also feature another native of Spain. In the co-main event, Nico Mendes takes on Thailand’s Saensuek in a middleweight battle.
