big survivor series match

The annual major fall WWE PPV is approaching, and WWE has a big Survivor Series match planned. Also, there’s possibly a big NXT UK star coming our way.

Big Survivor Series Match Planned

Survivor Series is just a couple months out, and we are hearing that WWE has a big Survivor Series match planned.

Raise your hand if you are shocked to hear that these big plans involve Retribution.

See, I am sure many fans watched the happenings, especially the most recent appearance on the September 21 RAW, and felt like there was a Survivor Series match being built.

I know I did. I doubt I was alone.

In all honesty, given the group’s shenanigans, a WarGames type match probably would make even more sense.

However, that’s an NXT staple, so according to PWInsider, expect a huge match featuring this hillariously named new group to be a part of the show.

This news really shouldn’t be a surprise. The build has been a bit slow and painful, but we should easily get to a big Survivor Series team by November.

The big questions, to be answered between now and the scheduled November 22nd PPV?

For one, who would be on Team Retribution? We know of the 3 core male Superstars, thanks to the comedy reveal last night.

Those would be T-Bar, Mace and Slapjack, for those keeping score at home.

Depending on the plans, we’d need another Superstar or two to round out the team. Easy to do, considering there seems to be a massive supporting group.

Another question would be…would this remain a RAW-only affair, or would WWE once again change course and involve SmackDown, or even NXT, to challenge the renegades?

With Survivor Series just about two months away, things should start coming into focus in the next month or so.

Plus, with some semblance of a reveal, the overall direction for Retribution will (hopefully) get clearer soon.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. Returning?

NXT UK has given us some pretty notable Superstars (primarily WALTER and Emperium), but there’s another possibly big NXT UK star coming.

The name will absolutely be familiar, should things fall into place.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. is a name WWE fans will no doubt recognize.

Smith, the son of the late, great British Bulldog, did a prior stint with WWE. He was known then as David Hart Smith, a way for WWE to play off all his famous bloodlines.

Smith has found success after WWE, which had eluded him with the company. Now more mature and a more established talent, Smith is currently working for MLW.

According to the Wrestling Observer, there does seem to be interest in Smith to become a major Superstar for the returning NXT UK brand.

That brand had shuttered for an extended time due to the pandemic. It only recently returned.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. is actually still under contract with MLW, though the report indicates that contract expires in December.

It’s possible then, if interest is mutual, that we could see Davey Boy Smith Jr. back in the WWE, in some capacity, when 2021 rolls around.
