A group of anti-mask demonstrators just staged a peaceful protest as they marched through a Florida Target to the Twisted Sister song “We’re Not Gonna Take It” while calling on shoppers to liberate their faces. Video of the anti-mask flash mob quickly caught the attention of Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider.
Anti-Mask Protesters Walk Through Target
The anti-mask protest took place on Tuesday at a Target in Fort Lauderdale, according to The Hill.
“Alright. We’re tired of shopping with masks on,” Chris Nelson, the organizer of the protest, exclaimed as he lifted up his phone to play “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”
“And now, we’re taking our masks off because we’re done with it,” he added as others in the store ripped off their masks.
“Breathe. Breathe. You’re Americans. Breathe,” one of the women involved in the demonstration said as she marched through the store.
One of the people taking part in the protest was Cristina Gomez, who recently made headlines when she went before the Palm Beach County Commission to say that masks are killing Americans and “We the People are waking up” while warning against the “devil’s law.”

Target Protesters: “Take Off The Mask”
“Take off th. at mask. That’s the only way it’s going to work if we all unite!” she shouted. “It’s all about choice.”
“We’re not gonna take it anymore,” the protesters sang as they made their way around the store encouraging shoppers to join them. One woman did join them briefly, taking off her mask and dancing along with the protesters.
“We’re not gonna take it anymore,” she exclaimed. Another woman then took off her mask as well, prompting one member of the group to say, “you go girl, alright!”
Nathan Babcock, who took part in the protest as well, explained to the Huffington Post that they wanted to make this statement because they feel like they have “no voice in what is being done to us.”
“That’s why we have had to organize and protest the lockdown,” he said, adding that it is “your right to do what you want, like it’s my right to do what I want.”
“If you want to wear a mask and think [it] makes you safer … That’s absolutely your right, 100 percent. Just don’t force me to wear a mask,” Babcock continued.
Broward County spokesperson Margaret Stapleton said that three people in the video were mailed $100 citations for failing to wear masks.
“Any additional participants from the video that are able to be identified will also receive $100 citations in the mail,” she said.
While police were called about the protesters, they were all gone when the officers arrived on the scene.

Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider Condemns Use Of “We’re Not Gonna Take It”
However, at least one person was not a fan of the protest. The video quickly elicited a reaction from Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider.
“No…these selfish a**holes do not have my permission or blessing to use my song for their moronic cause,” Snider tweeted.
If that surprises you, consider for a moment that Dee Snider calls New York home.
It’s a great song. So it’s no wonder this anti-mask gang chose the anthem for their Target protest (despite Dee Snider’s wishes).
