Logan Paul Issues Challenge

Logan Paul, a YouTube star, issues a challenge he probably didn’t think all the way through. It already has gotten plenty of responses!

New AEW star Matt Cardona gets some hate from folks who feel the company only hired him because he’s friends with Cody Rhodes.

YouTube’s Logan Paul Issues Challenge

Social media can be great…especially for people to say some kind of comically dumb stuff. Logan Paul, a YouTube star, issues a challenge to any influencer who can beat him in a wrestling match.

Specifically, he put out a $10,000 challenge. Surely, he was thinking other influencers like himself would bite.

What he neglected to take into account is, with social media being what it is, there are plenty of influencers with actual wrestling skills.

Like, real professional wrestlers.

Thus far, we’ve seen no follow up from Logan Paul…but he’s had plenty of interest from professional and amateur wrestling.

So what now?

It seems likely that it was an empty post, or one that he won’t follow through with-at least not with someone from AEW or WWE.

Still, considering his popularity, I’d be shocked if a promotion had not already reached out to the YouTube star to see about working something out.

Of course, there were some that even thought Paul could hold his own-or better.

In a world where tons of views go to platforms like YouTube, it would be short-sighted to dismiss someone with Paul’s level of engagement.

Paul is in great shape, and has a decent level of amateur experience…but there are plenty of very active wrestlers and fighters who I’d bet would more than handle him (Shorty G, Dolph Ziggler, Brock Lesnar, Drew Gulak….you get the point).

Could we see a YouTube brawl as a part of a future WWE or AEW PPV? Stranger things have happened…

Matt Cardona Has Some Hate

Maybe you loved The Long Island Iced-Z, but that man is gone now. Following his arrival in AEW, Matt Cardona gets some hate from some fans, because of why they think he got hired.

Specifically, some feel he got the job because he’s friends with the boss. Or, a boss…as in Cody Rhodes.

Before we get into that, it is worth at least coming clean and saying that hiring for that reason does seem really common in professional wrestling (like, the core group for AEW…).

Recently, Cardona spoke to Sportskeeda.com about his hiring by AEW. He acknowledged that he’s heard some of the chatter that he only got in because he’s Cody’s friend.

On the bright side, Matt Cardona doesn’t pay that noise much attention-nor should he. While he may be Cody’s friend, you’d have to believe, looking at his credentials, that he would have been a hot free agent regardless of who he knew.

Considering he’s won multiple titles while in WWE and got himself very over through his own YouTube efforts, any company would have been foolish to not have interest.

For now, Cardona is settling in nicely in his new home. Here’s hoping he has much greater success in AEW.
