TJ Dillashaw will be eligible to fight again in the not too distant future, and as a result, the former UFC bantamweight champ has fired a warning shot at the division. But, the way Aljamain Sterling sees it, Dillashaw won’t be the force he once was.
Dillashaw warns bantamweight division
If you’re a big MMA fan you know that Dillashaw has been sidelined since January, 2019, as a result of a suspension he picked up. Following his quick loss to then flyweight champ, Henry Cejudo, Dillashaw tested positive for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) and was suspended for two years.
Well, since 2021 is right around the corner, Dillashaw recently made this announcement.
“My return will be here soon and ready to reclaim what’s mine!”
Sterling fires back
As it stands right now, the man who is expected to challenge the new champ Petr Yan, is the aforementioned Sterling. When he saw Dillashaw’s proclamation, the surging contender responded with this.
“Those tricks are old now man. There’s new kids on the block and I’m not even just talking about me. Win 1-2 fights and then maybe he can have a shot at my throne.”

It will be interesting to see if Dillashaw is tapped for an immediate title shot. A little while ago, Dillashaw reported he had been told he will get a crack at the belt when he returns.
That aside, it will also be interesting to see how Dillashaw looks in his next bout, and whether he’s added to his game. Dillashaw turns 35 next February if you’re wondering.
