Edmen Shahbazyan: ‘No Excuses, It’s The Fight Game, I’ll Be Back’

For the first time in his professional career, Edmen Shahbazyan suffered a loss as Derek Brunson bested him Saturday night at UFC Fight Night.

Edmen Shahbazyan suffered his first career loss this past Saturday night, dropping a main event fight to Derek Brunson.

Shahbazyan was stopped in the third round after nearly being finished in the second. 

The bout aired live on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. 

Shahbazyan, who previously trained with Ronda Rousey, earned his way to the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series. He posted a message on social media after the defeat.

“I’m ok everyone just need some stitches,” Shahbazyan wrote. “Thank you for all the messages, love you all! Congrats to Derek Brunson tonight he did a great job.

‘No excuses, it’s the fight game and I’l be back! Blessed to have the support I have from everyone!”
