mcmahon trusts rey mysterio

Given the Superstar’s lack of a contract, one thing is clear: Vince McMahon trusts Rey Mysterio a lot. Will that level of trust backfire?

Also, we have not seen The Beast Incarnate since WrestleMania. Now we have an update on Brock Lesnar.

Vince McMahon Trusts Rey Mysterio

Vince McMahon is a fan of personal relationships. If he trusts you, you are in…and Vince McMahon trusts Rey Mysterio a great deal.

Will that, or could that, level of trust cause The Boss some regret? It’s possible, but seems unlikely.

As has been mentioned previously, Rey Mysterio’s WWE contract expired. He’s actually been working without a contract for the better part of a month already.

Reportedly, Mysterio sought a raise and was shot down. WWE needs to be careful to an extent here, because rumblings are that AEW would match any offer Rey got from WWE…or possibly meet his wants that WWE will not.

So where does the trust come in to play? This thinking comes from Wrestling Observer.

Mysterio has been working a fairly significant story line while not being under contract. Legally speaking, Rey Mysterio could actually stop showing up in WWE.

Should he do that, he would leave the company in quite a bind.

However, he would also burn some major bridges…and possibly not just for himself.

There’s a good chance that the future Hall of Famer is also looking ahead with his son Dominick’s professional future in mind.

To be fair, AEW could also offer an opportunity for Dominick too. Whether the opportunity for Dominick is as good in AEW as it might be in WWE is something the Mysterio family would have to consider.

So, for now, Vince McMahon is showing a great deal of trust in the former champion. We may have a better idea of how things will play out long term from the next few weeks.

Will Vince McMahon’s trust in Rey Mysterio prove to be a wise move? Or will McMahon be regretting things shortly?

Update On Brock Lesnar

The Beast Incarnate has not been seen in a WWE ring since WrestleMania. We have an update on Brock Lesnar, and it may be a while still before we see him again.

Brock Lesnar's New WWE Deal

Before the global pandemic took WWE’s creative plans and dumped them into an industrial shredder, it seemed as though we would see a return of Lesnar in time for SummerSlam.

Of course, the big PPV had been planned for Boston in late August. Now the event is slated for August 23rd from the now ever-present Performance Center.

Aside from the change of location, there’s also still no real fans. While the shows have improved with the addition of the talent in the arena, it’s not the same.

According to WrestleVotes, as of this weekend the bulk of WWE’s planned SummerSlam card has been turned upside down. One big component of that?

A match featuring Brock Lesnar.

The thinking within WWE is that having Lesnar work in front of no crowd would be a waste. If that is the thinking (and they may not be wrong), then it could be quite a while before we see Lesnar again.
