The WWE might be looking to increase their profits even further during the coronavirus. In fact, there are some rumors that WWE considered freezing wrestler contracts who stay home because of the virus.
What Happens To Wrestler Contracts If They Remain Home?
There are significant rumors that WWE could be freezing wrestler contracts due to coronavirus. According to Dave Meltzer, the contract freezing might happen.
Dave Meltzer also claims that it will depend on who the wrestler is.
“With Kevin Owens it’s only been a couple of weeks… so I guess it’s not. But with Sami Zayn it probably will be. If it’s Roman Reigns, they may not want to piss him off, and he isn’t going anywhere anyway. He is one guy who is not going to go anywhere. But with some guys absolutely they will freeze them (their contracts).”
Big Guys Versus The Little Guys
If the WWE continues its plan, it affects the company more than you might think. I have no doubt that several wrestlers are unhappy with the company right now, and this development could make it worse.
WWE might have no qualms with choosing between wrestlers to maximize their profit. It may be good for business, but is it the right thing to do?
AEW The Elite Poke Fun At The NXT’s Great American Bash
With the success of Fyter Fest, The Elite could not help to poke fun at NXT’s Great American Bash. The Elite referred to the spoilers for the event on Instagram.
According to Nick, they might have lost in the ratings that week, but at least they did not put spoilers on Instagram. The joke caused each member of The Elite to burst out in laughter.
One of the stars of NXT accidently posted a photo on Instagram that provided serious spoilers for Great American Bash. Obviously, WWE officials were not too happy about the incident.
This is not the first time AEW poked fun at the WWE and its problems. During Fyter Fest, Taz gave a promo that poked fun at the company’s inability to protect its staff against coronavirus.
And we are sure there will be more fun poking to come!
The Future For The Elite
AEW’s The Elite might be on cloud nine right now, but that might all change in the nearby future. In fact, there is some evidence of tension between Hangman Page and Kenny Omega.
Page and Omega are the current tag team champions, although those championships may be in jeopardy. The arrival of FTR seems to have disturbed The Elite’s symbiosis, and it will be interesting to follow to say the least.
The problem did not only occur with AEW’s Page and Omega, as it seems The Young Bucks have also been rather disturbed because of their presence. While all men involved are face characters, that could change in the nearby future.
It is clear AEW is preparing major storylines for the months ahead. As the tension between the current Tag Team Champions becomes more obvious, we cannot wait to see what happens!
