Steven Merrill: “It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce my withdrawal from LFA this Friday. I suffered a hip injury last Monday that just won’t let me be close enough to 100% to compete properly. I have pulled out of 3 fights in my entire amateur and pro career. First time, I had pneumonia the day before the fight. 2nd time was my car accident the week before. 3rd was when I suffered a pneumo-mediastynum. Basically, my chest cavity leaked air into other parts of my body. In this fight life we never go in at 100% but for such a big promotion and opportunity, I need to be closer than not. I’m hoping to have something coming down the pipeline very soon, so stay tuned because I’ll be ready when that opportunity door knocks again…..”
