Fans of Hollywood star Kelly Preston are still in shock right now after her husband John Travolta revealed the sad news about his wife. He let people know that she passed away yesterday at the age of 57 following a secret two-year battle with breast cancer. Now, Kelly Preston and John Travolta’s 20-year-old daughter Ella is taking to social media to pay a touching tribute to her “courageous” mom after her passing.
“I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you,” Ella Travolta began her post alongside a photo of her mother. “Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy.”
“Thank you for being there for me no matter what. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place,” she added. “You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama.”

Fox News reported that Preston was born in 1962 in Hawaii. She went on to get a degree in acting from the University of Southern California before scoring her big break in the 1985 romantic comedy Mischief.
Great success in Hollywood soon followed, with Preston having roles in such mega-hits as Twins and Jerry Maguire. She also had guest-starring roles on shows like “Medium,” “CSI: Cyber” and “Joey.”
Preston and Travolta met while filming the 1988 movie The Experts, and got married three years later in 1991. The Travoltas had three children together – Jett, Ella, 20, and Benjamin, 9. Their oldest son Jett tragically passed away in 2009 at the age of 16.
Preston’s final Instagram message was posted on Father’s Day last month.
She shared a photo of her family along with the caption, “Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you.”
Though Preston’s final film role came in 2018, when she starred alongside her husband John Travolta in the movie Gotti, she largely put her own career on the back-burner in her final years to focus on being a supportive wife and mother.
Last year, she got to watch her daughter follow in her footsteps when Ella Travolta starred in the movie The Poison Rose. Preston could not have been more of a proud mother as she watched her baby girl do press for the film.
Preston wrote on Instagram in May of last year:
“Still in absolute awe of my stunning daughter. I just re-watched all of her interviews from this past week doing press for #thepoisonrose and she has jumped into ‘the family business’ as an absolute natural. It floored me how poised, confident, elegant, sweet, gorgeous (I don’t think there are actually enough adjectives in the English language for me to properly articulate how perfectly she held her own)… I am beyond proud of her and all of her accomplishments, but most of all I am proud and honored to have her as my daughter.”
Kelly Preston touched the lives of many during her life. Here are just of few of her friends and fans expressing their sadness.
