Today’s bout has plenty of buzz on account of the fact both Poirier and Hooker are aggressive, dangerous fighters. There’s also a lot riding on the bout.

Poirier (25-6) is looking to remain within reach of another title shot, as the former interim champ is coming off a loss to the reigning, lightweight king, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Hooker (20-8), on the other hand, is hoping to lock-up a title shot. ‘The Hangman’ has won three in a row and he’s moved into the top five of the UFC’s lightweight ranks as a result.
