Dustin Poirier earned a big-time decision victory over Dan Hooker in a battle of Top-5 lightweight contenders Saturday night at UFC on ESPN.

The event took place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, airing live on ESPN and ESPN+.

Poirier and Hooker went toe-to-toe for five rounds with “The Diamond” landing 192 significant strikes and 222 overall. He connected on 76 percent of his strikes in all.

Hooker, meanwhile, scored on four takedowns with 182 total strikes landed and 142 significant ones in the 25 minutes of action.

The co-main event featured a unique twist as Mike Perry stayed true to his word and showed up to face Mickey Gall with only his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez, in his corner.

It worked out, as Perry earned a decision victory on all three scorecards over Gall.

In a shocking heavyweight battle, Maurice Greene got Gian Villante to tap late in the third round.

Greene, on his back at the time of the finish, locked up an arm-triangle that forced Villante to submit. It appeared as if Villante was exhausted from the outpouring of strikes he had thrown in the round.

An emotional Greene talked after the win about moving his family to New Mexico to continue his training with the Jackson-Wink camp.

Brendan Allen picked up a decision over Kyle Daukaus, Takashi Sato finished Jason Witt in the first round and Julian Erosa submitted Sean Woodson in the third.

On the prelims, Khama Worthy, Tanner Boser, Kay Hansen and Youssef Zalal all picked up wins. Worthy and Hansen won via submission, Boser via first round knockout and Zalal by decision.
