On the prelims, Bobby Green and Clay Guida closed out the early portion of the fight card, going the distance. In the end, the judges ruled Green the winner via unanimous decision in a close bout between veterans.

In a featured strawweight contest, Tecia Torres picked up a nice decision over Brianna Van Buren, sweeping all three rounds on all three scorecards. Marc-Andre Barriault finished Oskar Piechota in the second round, Gillian Robertson submitted Cortney Casey in the third and Justin Jaynes stopped Frank Camacho in just 41 seconds.

Lauren Murphy downed Roxanne Modafferi by decision and Austin Hubbard forced Max Rohskopf to stop after the second round to open the night.

The veteran Jim Miller and the newcomer Roosevelt Roberts kick things off. Michael Bisping, on the call tonight, noted that Roberts was actually tweeting him back roughly 20 minutes before his bout.

Miller, with a quick takedown, eventually worked his way into an armbar and locked it up, forcing Roberts to tap. The win was the third in his last four fights and the 21st all-time inside the Octagon for Miller, one behind Donald Cerrone.

Fun back-and-forth battle between welterweights Belal Muhammad and Lyman Good, as Muhammad picks up the decision. Good out-landed Muhammad, 96-81, while Muhammad scored a pair of takedowns.

Muhammad has won three consecutive fights and is 7-1 now over his last eight.

In a solid battle between ranked grapplers, Raquel Pennington made it 2-for-2 for the Pennington/Tecia Torres family by picking up a decision over Marion Reneau. The two, of course, are one of the fighting couples of MMA.

Pennington earned her second win since 2016, but the three losses she has suffered during that span have come at the hands of two-division champion Amanda Nunes and former champions Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie.

Josh Emmett used a strong 10-8 round to claim a decision victory over Shane Burgos in the co-main event. Emmett picked up his three consecutive win and improved to 5-1 over his last six.

At 16-2 overall and with seven UFC wins, the 35-year-old Emmett could be on a late-surge towards title contention.

Blaydes said he would “ragdoll” Volkov, and less than 10 seconds into the bout, he scores his first takedown. He sends Volkov on a ride, giving him a taste of wrestling 101.

More of the same in the second round by Blaydes, but Volkov is learning as the fight progresses and trying his best to get free of his grasp. It’s just that Blaydes is so good at what he does.

The thing about Blaydes is that he doesn’t just rest on top. He’s always working, landing nasty, sharp elbows from the top position.

In the fourth, Volkov showed his own wrestling skills, earning a takedown near the end of the round.

As expected a convincing decision win for Blaydes in this one.
