Anthony Pettis has faced several big names in the last couple of years, and the latest star “Showtime” has called out, is none other than Anderson Silva. Is the former middleweight down? Yes. Yes, he is.

Pettis calls for fight with “The Spider” at 185

Recently Pettis raised eyebrows throughout the game by sharing out the challenge below.

Silva, was reportedly quick to respond with this.

“This is great, my friend, let’s do it.”

Could this happen?

In terms of name recognition, and on account of each man’s striking skills, there’s likely a lot of folks who would love to see this fight.

But, when you consider Pettis isn’t even big for welterweight, the UFC might have someone else in mind for Silva next.

Case in point, recently Silva called for a bout with Conor McGregor, and it doesn’t look like that went anywhere.

Pettis (23-10) is coming off a decision win over Donald Cerrone last month at UFC 249. Silva (34-10), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since May, 2019, when he lost via TKO to Jared Cannonier and sustained a knee injury.
