Backlash Gets Even Closer

How do we kick off June, but with our latest RAW In A Nutshell. Backlash gets even closer, with the next WWE PPV just around the corner.

The big attractions on the show this week? How about the retirement ceremony for Rey Mysterio for starters,

There will also be the first title defense for new United States Champion Apollo Crews. Crews gets to choose his opponent, so we have to wait and watch.

As Backlash gets even closer, we can count on more hype for many of the matches-like Drew McIntyre’s championship defense against Bobby Lashley.

So, let’s not delay any more…Backlash just got even closer.

It’s time to crack open this RAW in a Nutshell!

Best Match of the night:

I will take what we got from Aleister Black and Seth Rollins any day of the week. Hopefully this Black win sets him up for a deserved push.

Worst match of the night:

I have to go with Nia Jax versus Kairi Sane, if only because we’ve got Nia causing an injury yet again.

Star of the Night

Going to go with Aleister Black tonight. Nice showing and great win for him. Even if things didn’t end so well…

Jobber of the Night:

Is it just me, or did MVP feel like a jobber tonight?

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

Not sure I have anything that qualifies.

Botch of the night:

Let the talk of Nia Jax being unsafe resume. I mean, accidents DO happen…but when bad things repeatedly happen with you involved…

Another night, another injured Superstar. Let’s not forget WWE recently banned a move, in large part due to what she did.

LOL Moment of the night:

We had to know, getting the 24/7 Champion advertised for a segment, that something would be up. We’ve seen very little from Rob Gronkowski since his WrestleMania win, but he and R-Truth have been using vignettes to keep things simmering.

That changed this week, with Truth dressing up as a landscape guy to sneak up on Gronk. It was a funny segment.

In the grand scheme, having Gronk drop the belt makes a world of sense, and most of us had to see this coming. The former Patriot came out of retirement recently so that he could join Tom Brady in Tampa.

Having him drop the belt was simply a matter of when, not if. That said, he did become the longest reigning 24/7 Champion…and you can see why WWE signed him.

We can look forward to his time with the company, provided he returns when his NFL career ends…again.

Also…this…

Noteworthy Moment:

I’ll go with Dominick basically saying he’d be coming for Rollins…”an eye for an eye”.

Overall lowlights:

I can’t disagree with this viewpoint. And next week, the teams are in a decathlon?

Like, here’s a thought…let them…I dunno..wrestle?!

Overall highlights:

Aleister Black and Seth Rollins is fun to watch.

We may finally have Dominick’s “in”.

Charlotte and Asuka was good.

After the final bell:

Not a terrible show. I’d say it was entertaining.

Really don’t like seeing Kairi Sane injured again at the hands of Nia Jax though.
