Hollywood star Mia Farrow, best known for starring in classic movies like Rosemary’s Baby, has just vowed to “take a knee” during the national anthem just like Colin Kaepernick for “as long as this injustice lasts”. Her pledge is presumably in reference to the death of George Floyd and ongoing Black Lives Matter protests.
“From this day forward, whenever im in a public place where the national anthem is played, i will take a knee,” Farrow, 75, wrote on Twitter on Thursday. “As long as this injustice lasts, even if I’m too old to rise without assistance, i will take a knee.”
Farrow has long been an outspoken supporter of Kaepernick, the former NFL player who started the protest of taking a knee during the national anthem to protest against racial inequality in the United States.
Last week, Farrow took to Twitter to post an image of Kaepernick kneeling next to a photo of Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on the neck of Floyd right before his death.
The Hollywood elite has been open about how much she despises “The Star Spangled Banner” in the past.
“Why do we even have the National Anthem at football games? We don’t do it at the theater, or opera, or tennis games. I don’t know if they do it at hockey games. But really- why?” she tweeted back in 2018.
It should be noted that the national anthem actually is played at theater and opera performances in some American cities, but that’s neither here nor there.
In another 2018 tweet, Farrow made it clear that becoming an “anthem-kneeler” is something she’s been considering for awhile.
“If I was a white player I would take a knee in solidarity – for justice and against police brutality,” she wrote.
Farrow’s tweet on Thursday came as New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was hit with tons of backlash for saying that he does not agree with those who kneel during the national anthem.
“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country,” Brees told Yahoo Finance. “I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart is it shows unity. It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution.”
Brees has since been forced to apologize multiple times, saying “it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused.”

Hollywood liberals like Farrow can glorify kneeling during the national anthem all they want, but that won’t change the fact that it’s a blatant slap in the face to the American flag and those who have fought and died for it.
I for one will never take a knee during the national anthem, nor will I ever support anyone who does.
