Looney Tunes Elmer Fudd Bugs Bunny gun grabbing

If 2020 hasn’t been ridiculous enough, HBO Max is piling on with its announcement that their ‘Looney Tunes’ reboot will not include guns. That’s right. They are grabbing Elmer Fudd’s hunting rifle so he will have to find other means of netting his prize catch, Bugs Bunny.

Don’t worry though. There will be plenty of other weapons. Things will still be dropped on character’s heads and dynamite will be included.

But, hypocritically, guns will be excluded.

All of the included tools cause harm to people and dynamite can be much more destructive but they don’t want guns because of Hollywood’s aggressive gun grabbing agenda.

‘Looney Tunes’ Reboot Replaces Elmer Fudd’s Gun With Scythe To Hunt Bugs Bunny

Instead of a gun, Elmer will be able to hunt Bugs Bunny with a scythe. Like the Grim Reaper of hunting. Because that’s normal.

Hollywood doesn’t appear to understand (or care) that a scythe can injure or kill someone. It really depends on whose hands it’s in – no?

But Hollywood doesn’t want guns in cartoons. Yet they are completely fine with gun and terroristic violence in their movies. Utter and complete hypocrisy!

From The Hill:

The new series “Looney Tunes Cartoons,” which premiered last week on the streaming service HBO Max, will feature the cartoon’s characteristic violence – using sticks of dynamite, booby traps and the iconic anvils and bank safes dropped onto characters, The New York Times reported last week.

However, Peter Browngardt, the series executive producer and showrunner, told the outlet, “We’re not doing guns.”

“But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in,” Browngardt told the outlet.

Elmer Fudd is regularly foiled trying to hunt Bugs Bunny on the show. In the new series, the character will carry a scythe.

Hypocritical Hollywood

This is typical Tinseltown. They are so out of touch with the rest of America. They have armed guards who protect them but don’t believe we should have police or otherwise the ability to protect ourselves or hunt with the same guns their hired security use.

These elites believe hunting is bad yet many actors and executives eat meat. That meat must just magically appear on their plates.

Scrubbing Elmer Fudd’s gun for hunting Bugs Bunny is yet another example of Hollywood being completely out of touch with flyover Americans. How can ‘Looney Tunes’ justify depicting use of scythes, dynamite and anvils as weapons but not guns?

Apparently the gun is evil but other weapons are not. Putting the argument back on the tool vs. the bearer of the tool. It’s just so hypocritical.

The coastal elites don’t understand the importance of guns for self defense or hunting. They expect everything to be served up to them on a silver platter while the rest of us have to earn our keep.

I won’t be watching. Thank goodness there are still reruns.
