Reports are coming in that a noose was found in NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace’s garage stall at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama. Wallace, the only black drive in the NASCAR Cup Series, recently convinced NASCAR to ban the Confederate flag from races.
“Today, the despicable act of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society and how persistent we must be in the fight against racism,” Wallace tweeted after the noose was found.
“As my mother told me today, ‘They are just trying to scare you,'” he added. “This will not break me, I will not give in nor will I back down. I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe in.”

NASCAR responded by saying they are “outraged” about the noose. And, they are investigating to find out who was behind it.
“Late this afternoon, NASCAR was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of the 43 team,” NASCAR said in a statement. “We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough seriously we take this heinous act. We have launched an immediate investigation and will do everything we can to identify the person(s) responsible and eliminate them from the sport.”
Support for Wallace has been pouring in from various celebrities in the wake of the noose being discovered:

However, not everyone was so quick to jump onboard without any visual evidence of the noose.
After all, the liberal of mayor of Oakland, California demanded a full hate crime investigation into alleged “nooses” that were found in a local park. It was later revealed that they were actually just pieces of exercise equipment that had been put up by a black person.
While the allegations need to be taken seriously, it’s also important not to jump to conclusions and descend into mass hysteria over this incident until more details come to light.
