UFC On ESPN 9: Woodley Vs. Burns Saturday Night, Fight Card Inside

The UFC returns following a one week hiatus this Saturday night with UFC on ESPN 9 featuring Tyron Woodley vs. Gilbert Burns.

Set from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, the card features a welterweight battle between former champion in Woodley and Burns, a rising top contender.

The main card begins on ESPN and ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET following prelims, which also air on both ESPN and ESPN+ starting at 6 p.m. ET.

Along with Woodley vs. Burns, the main card is expected to feature Blagoy Ivanov meeting up against Augusto Sakai, the debuting Gabriel Green battling Daniel Rodriguez, Roosevelt Roberts taking on Brok Weaver and Mackenzie Dern returning to face off with Hannah Cifers.

Six fights pack into the prelims highlighted by Katlyn Chookagian facing Antonina Shevchenko.

Also, Spike Carlyle faces Billy Quarantillo, Klidson Abreu meets Jamahal Hill, Tim Elliott tangles with Brandon Royval, Casey Kenney battles Louis Smolka and Chris Gutierrez squares off with Vince Morales.

The 38-year-old Woodley has not fought since early last year when he lost a decision to Kamaru Usman as he was attempting to defend his title. The loss snapped a seven-fight unbeaten streak for the former standout wrestler.

Burns earned his biggest win to date in March when he finished former title contender Demian Maia in the first round in Brazil. The win stretched his streak to five in a row.

This marks the first UFC event in Las Vegas since the coronavirus pandemic. The promotion held three consecutive cards in Florida earlier this month.

We will have complete coverage this Saturday night of all the action.
