Bryce Mitchell

Fans have been blessed to see a twister submission a handful of times over the years. At UFC 249, Bryce Mitchell made the move look like a typical choke.

Mitchell tried countless times to secure a twister submission on Charles Rosa in their featherweight prelim Saturday. And while he was unable to finish the hold, he still dominated the match.

The 25-year-old Mitchell improved to 13-0 with the win over Rosa, just missing on earning a second consecutive win via submission and twister. He locked the move on Matt Sayles this past December.

“(Rosa) talked a lot of shit before, but it said you are championship material after and thanked me,” Mitchell said. “I have nothing but respect for the guy. Ninety-nine percent of people would have tapped. I have nothing but good to say about him.

“I was pissed at first, but we shook it off.”

Mitchell is now 4-0 inside the Octagon.

In 2018, Mitchell appeared on the Ultimate Fighter, reaching the semifinals before falling via submission to Brad Katona. He did enough, though, to earn a spot on The Ultimate FIghter Finale and has not looked back yet.

“I love my family, friends, teammates,” Mitchell said. “I love God and I love Arkansas. I’m not going anywhere.”
