Lori Loughlin’s Daughters ‘Devastated’ She’s Going To Prison; Expert Says Her Career Will Never Recover

Yesterday, we reported that Lori Loughlin has finally agreed to plead guilty to charges against her in the college admissions scandal, and that she will serve two months in prison if the judge accepts her plea. Now, sources say that Loughlin’s daughters are struggling in the aftermath of her guilty plea. Plus, experts are weighing in on whether Lori Loughlin will ever be able to resume her acting career again.

Lori Loughlin’s Daughters Are ‘Devastated’

A source close to the family told Us Weekly that Lori Loughlin’s daughters Isabella, 21, and Olivia Jade, 20, are “devastated” by the fact that their parents are going to prison.

Their father, Mossimo Giannulli, has also agreed to plead guilty and will be spending five months in jail.

“Olivia and Bella were devastated when Lori and Mossimo told them they were pleading guilty,” the source said. “The girls have been spending a lot of time at their parents’ house recently, and they are becoming much more of a tight-knit family.”

The source went on to say that while the girls don’t want to see their parents behind bars, they are excited for this scandal to come to an end.

“The girls have been on so many ups and downs that they were happy it was going to be over, but [they] fear for their mom going to jail,” the insider explained.

PR Expert Weighs In On Lori Loughlin’s Career

This comes after KerrPR President Cherie Kerr, who has no involvement in the case, told Fox News that Loughlin will likely have some struggles when it comes to resuming her acting career in Hollywood.

“For instance, the fact that [Lori] lied about both daughters’ athletic ability – that’s a real problem. That’s worse than her just sending somebody some money as an influence and to get [her daughters] in and then say, ‘Oh well, I didn’t really know what I was doing and this guy [William ‘Rick’ Singer] put himself out to be someone who was just a coordinator to get my kids in school. So when you start lying as she did about her daughters and their background – and they found out they weren’t rowers – that’s the problem because that’s really deceitful.”

Kerr added that Lori Loughlin “should have walked off the field long ago” and plead guilty like her co-defendant and fellow actress Felicity Huffman did.

“She didn’t fight it and get off and even if she had, there was a lot of damage done,” Kerr said of Loughlin.

“It’s generally not just one thing, but I think her career and her image is tainted from here on out because of what happened. If she’s not well thought of as a mother, to a lot of people in the public that will be a big black mark against her.”

Expert Explains What She Should Do Now

As for what Loughlin should do now, Kerr stressed the importance of getting ahead of this with the media, should her plea agreement allow her to do so.

“What happens with the press is that whoever has the most ink or airtime is the one where the public’s sway is moved toward that side, but if she’s not going to say anything and she’s not going to do anything, I think she’s going to have a problem.

So if she has any kind of defense – if she wants to do a mea culpa or she wants to say this is really what went down and how it went down – we were desperate or whatever – she should be out there talking,” Kerr maintained. “Some people just decide to go away and leave it alone for a while. But I always say, if the story’s out there and you made a deal and that’s what you did and you have a way to explain that away – then do it.

People used to go on with Barbara Walters for a whole hour and explain why they did what they did.”

There’s no question that Lori Loughlin would have saved herself a lot of grief and money if she’d just fessed up to what she had done sooner.

This scandal has certainly left a mark on her image – it’s hard to imagine her being cast in a wholesome or mom role after this.

After everything that has happened, it would not be surprising if she struggles to ever get an acting job again.
