Actor and singer Leif Garrett just spoke out to blast Rosie O’Donnell for claiming that he was banned from her talk show for being on drugs. The 70’s teen idol says that Rosie’s drug-fueled tale on Andy Cohen’s lie show is a complete fabrication – “I don’t know if she’s got Alzheimer’s.”
Rosie O’Donnell Claims Leif Garrett Used Crack On Her Talk Show
Leif Garrett was one of the most popular teen idols of the 1970’s. Both an actor and a singer, Garrett’s popularity soared with hit tunes like”Surfin’ U.S.A.”, “Runaround Sue”, and “I Was Made for Dancing.
Earlier this week, O’Donnell took a swing at Garrett while appearing on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen”.
During the livestream, the TV host dropped a bomb that during the days of “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”, she had to ban one of her celebrity guests because of his drug use.
“One guy, Leif Garrett, came with a fresh wound from a pipe that he used for crack,” she claimed. “He sort of gnawed it out.”
“So when I met him in the green room, he had a normal face and he came out a few minutes later and he had a huge red welt of burn from being in the green room those 20 minutes I didn’t see him,” O’Donnell added. “People who are that messed up shouldn’t be on TV.”
Leif Garrett Fires Back At Rosie O’Donnell
58-year-old Garrett, however, swiftly fired back to say that O’Donnell was lying.
“No, that’s not even how it came close,” he told TooFab. “I don’t know if she’s got Alzheimer’s or doesn’t remember what happened, but it’s on YouTube.”
“You can watch the clip on YouTube. She said I had a little burn on my face from using crack, which is so not true. First of all, I would never do anything like that,” Garrett continued.

Garrett went on to say that people should never “assume” anything about someone else.
Garrett added that while he is happily sober today, he did struggle with drugs in the 1990s. An experience that he opened up about in his 2019 book “Idol Truth”.
The former teen idol’s openness about his experiences with drugs indicate that Garrett is not trying to hide his past.
So he’d likely have owned up had O’Donnell been telling the truth about him being banned from her show for drug use.
Desperate For The Spotlight
Rosie O’Donnell seems to be more desperate than ever to stay relevant these days.
When her constant attacks on President Donald Trump stopped grabbing her headlines, she needed a fresh target. Leif Garrett seems to have found his way into her crosshairs.
You have to ask yourself why Rosie would attack someone who did the work to turn their life around? Especially after a long struggle. Is it just to get some attention for herself?
Once again, Rosie O’Donnell shows that she is just another Hollywood narcissist who will do absolutely anything for fame. SAD!
