Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor sparked some incredible heat recently with his rankings.
McGregor, who previously held both the UFC featherweight and lightweight titles, noted that on his own personal greatest of all-time rankings would be himself, Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva and Jon Jones.
While that could make sense for quite a few people, McGregor mentioned that he would be no lower than No. 2 on such a list.
That did not sit too well with Jones.
Of course, neither St-Pierre or Silva have responded, as both of those former champions tend to avoid much talk whether that be in interviews or through social media.
Jones, however, went on for quite a while to dispute McGregor’s claims.
Others have chimed in including former opponents Khabib Nurmagomedov and Nate Diaz.
Nurmagomedov, the reigning UFC lightweight champion who is also unbeaten in his career, called out McGregor.
“You tapped out in featherweight, you tapped out in lightweight and you tapped in welterweight, you never defended title in the UFC or Cage Warriors, you gave up more than GSP, Spider and Bones all together,” Nurmagomedov posted. You greatest @ufc fighter in twitter history.”
As did Diaz, who is 1-1 all-time vs. the Irish fighter.
“Smoked the #1 p4p and double champ know the real (G.O.A.T.) when you see him,” Diaz posted. “And don’t for get I did it better and quicker than anyone else on the ground and sent him down with punches quicker than Mayweather did so fuck alll y’all rankings and know a real goat when you see me.”
