Drew McIntyre Plans

Big plans seem to be headed towards Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins responds to Jim Cornette’s comments on Becky Lynch being pregnant.

Drew McIntyre Plans

Drew McIntyre won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36 and has been plowing through competition. Moving forward, it seems like McIntyre will be headed in the same direction.

According to Wrestle Talk, WWE has been impressed with McIntyre’s short run as Universal Champion. This could lead to McIntyre sticking in the main event and not being a paper champion.

“WWE management has been so impressed with Drew in recent weeks, that they see him as a main eventer for years to come. We’ve been told that his title reign will almost definitely not be a one-off like we’ve seen with Finn Balor, Jinder Mahal and Kofi Kingston in recent years. So, expect to see him at the top of the card for the foreseeable future.”

WWE has been pushing McIntyre hard since January. As WrestleMania season started, McIntyre was placed towards the front of superstars to watch.

Back at the Royal Rumble, McIntyre eliminated Brock Lesnar. He also won the Rumble and later challenged Lesnar.

To conclude both nights of WrestleMania 36, McIntyre defeated Lesnar. McIntyre survived several F5s before landing some claymore kicks to secure the win.

Since then, McIntyre has defeated the likes of Big Show, Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin. Next, he has Bobby Lashley to deal with at Backlash.

McIntyre’s Previous WWE History

Currently, McIntyre is in his second WWE run. The first one saw him introduced as the future, but it did not work out.

The push ended and McIntyre became a jobber as part of 3MB. After leaving WWE, he worked in Europe and was Impact Wrestling World Champion.

WWE brought McIntyre back a few years ago and he wrestled in NXT. He became NXT Champion and would later join the main roster as a heel.

Since turning face, McIntyre has cemented his spot in the main event. Also, having Paul Heyman being an advocate, does not hurt.

Seth Rollins On Jim Cornette’s Becky Lynch Rant

Only weeks ago, WWE fans were treated to wonderful news. Becky Lynch opened RAW and stated she was pregnant.

Tons of support poured in for her and Seth Rollins, but one remark left a negative impression. Jim Cornette was critical, referencing her salary and position in WWE.

Basically, Cornette felt that Lynch getting pregnant at 33 years old was a mistake. He pointed out her $1 million salary last year and currently being the top female star.

On After the Bell, Rollins joined Corey Graves. Rollins was not happy about Cornette’s remark and seems ready to move on.

“It hurt my feelings on a personal level because Jim Cornette is someone who’s a legend in our industry,” said Rollins. “And he’s someone that I personally worked with in my time at Ring of Honor.”

“For him to come out and say some real negative things, some real misogynist things about women in general and pregnancy and the industry, it kind of caught me off guard. It made me lose a respect for someone who a lot of people had already kind of lost respect for.”

“I was still holding on to hope that somewhere along the line, there was a personal connection between Jim and I that he would think twice before making just some egregious comments about women, about my wife. I can’t even forgive them.”

With Lynch out of the picture, WWE put the title on 2020 Money in the Bank winner Asuka. She is now a face and working a program opposite Nia Jax.

As for Lynch’s future, that is up in the air. Returning is always a possibility, but that will not be discussed until 2021.
