Singer Pink shocked her fans on Friday when she revealed that she and her 3 year-old son Jameson had each tested positive for the virus and beaten it. The next day, she opened up about her horrific “rollercoaster” experience battling the deadly virus with her son during an Instagram Live.
“It got really, really scary, I’m not gonna lie,” Pink admitted, according to Fox News.
“In the beginning, all we were hearing was ‘If you’re young, this is 65 and older, our kids are fine.’ I’m hoping we are out of the woods, but this thing is a rollercoaster. Just when you think you are better, something else happens.”
Pink, who has asthma, added that while she and son Jameson are “better than they were,” they are still quite shaken up by the experience.
“There were many nights when I’ve cried and I’ve never prayed more in my life,” Pink said, explaining that Jameson suffered “the worst of it.”
“It’s funny, at one point, I heard myself saying ‘I thought they promised us our kids would be OK.’ It’s not guaranteed,” the 40 year-old singer said. “There is no one that is safe from this.”

Jameson is Pink’s youngest child with her husband of 14 years, former X Games pro Carey Hart. The two also have an 8-year-old daughter, Willow.
Pink’s story is particularly terrifying given the fact that initial reports lead the public to believe that children would be safe from coronavirus complications. Obviously this was not the case for little Jameson.
If this could happen to the child of a wealthy celebrity, it could happen to anyone. Pink even warned listeners to consider her family proof that anyone can get coronavirus. She asked listeners to take this seriously and be careful.
“Two weeks ago my three-year-old son, Jameson, and I are were (sic) showing symptoms of COVID-19,” she wrote. “Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor.”
Pink added that she has since recovered after being tested again “just a few days ago.” She also called on the United States government to make tests more readily available.
“It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real,” her post continues.
“People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”

Pink generously donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts.
Half of the donation will go to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund. The “Just Give Me a Reason” singer’s mother has worked at Temple University Hospital for eighteen years.
Pink added that the other $500,000 will be given to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 crisis fund.
“THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones,” she concluded.
“You are our heroes! these next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”
What Pink and her son went through sounds absolutely awful.
We thank God that they seem to have recovered, and we pray they continue to be healthy going forward!
