The Stay Home Go Home Show

It’s the beginning of the week…that means another RAW In A Nutshell. But, not just any RAW In A Nutshell. It’s the Stay Home Go Home Show, if you can believe that! That is, of course, referring to the recent Orange County stay home order. While that is in place, this week’s RAW was, sadly, taped ahead of time in front of basically no one. One has to wonder though, will RAW be breaking the same rules as SmackDown might have? Or will this be a safer, gentler Stay Home Go Home show? There’s only one way to find out, and it involves cracking open this RAW In A Nutshell!

The Stay Home Go Home Show

Best Match of the night:

In terms of actual matches, this one goes to the WrestleMania 35 main event replay. It was a good match last year, and it holds up. Nothing that was taped and new for this evening could hold a candle to it.

Worst match of the night:

Aleister Black got the better of a jobber. That went a minute. Or Asuka over Kayden Carter, also in about a minute. I think I had higher hopes for Kayden Carter, but it’s early, and it’s just experience at this point.

Crowd Chants of the Night:

No crowd…ya know…as usual.

Star of the Night

Going in a different direction, again. Tonight was really all about promos.

The best two? Kevin Owens and Edge. Give those men some gold stars.

Spot of the Night:

Not a lot to choose from…but how about Shayna Baszler bouncing Becky Lynch’s head off the side of the announce table?

Jobber of the Night:

Jason Cade or Kayden Carter. Flip a coin, either one works for me

Upset of the Night:

Nothing happening here

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

I’d go with the attacks by Baszler on Lynch, and by Flair on Rhea Ripley. Both to be expected on a go home show, but still good enough for this show to make it here.

Botch of the night:

I kind of want to go with Kevin Owens cursing. Like, it’s edited and all that, so WWE certainly had time to fix that…so clearly they didn’t think it was bad.

Or, the guy who edited was the botch, because he left that in?

Noteworthy Moment:

Austin Theory made his RAW debut.

WWE is, however, still telling fans that we get Roman Reigns versus Bill Goldberg this weekend.

Overall lowlights:

As with previous Nutshells, the lack of crowd is disappointing.

Overall highlights:

Crowd not being there sucks, but we got a really great match replay and some excellent mic work. All was not lost this evening.

After the final bell:

Easily the most unusual go home show ever, but while we lacked some fresh, live action…we did get a few stellar promos. If words alone can sell matches, then things should be in good shape. We got strong ones from The Undertaker, Kevin Owens, Edge and Paul Heyman. And sure, Becky Lynch was strong too. It may have been unusual because, you know, no crowds…but WWE did a solid job here.
