Pro-Life

A group of pro-life college student activists protesting outside a Planned Parenthood facility in Washington state this week were met with a shocking response. Pro-choice protesters showed up and began behaving in a way that was described as “violent,” “dark,” and threatening.

Pro-Life Protest Met With Hateful Opposition

Fox News reported that Autumn Lindsey, a student spokesperson for Students for Life of America (SFLA), took to Facebook to recount what happened in response to the 40 Days for Life campaign. The campaign is meant to help save lives by praying for an end to abortion and to give pregnant women encouragement to carry their children to term.

Lindsey explained that during the protest in Bellingham, the counter-protesters were extremely lewd. One pro-choice man exposed himself to the students when he stopped at a red light. Another woman was captured on camera screaming “My body, my choice” and “Hail Satan” at them. And, a third person threw a mysterious vial of clear liquid at the pro-lifers.

Lindsey said “Satan” is mentioned and referenced toward people praying outside abortion clinics “more than you would think.”

“For some I think it’s just a way for them to try and get under our skin, but the woman driving in her car seemed to honestly believe it,” she said.

“We are in week two of 40 Days for Life and we’ve already seen this much hate and friction, and, so, you could take it as discouraging,” Lindsey said, adding defiantly, “I think their goal is to scare us away, but that’s not going to happen.”

Pro-Choice Protesters Have Taken Things Way Too Far

Kristan Hawkins, the president of the SFLA, called upon the other side to end certain types of protests that go too far:

“The threats and vitriol must be stopped. Every day it seems like we hear of a new account of vandalism, threat of violence, or acts of intimidation towards peaceful pro-lifers. What happened Saturday shows us the worst of the worst of the pro-choice movement; obscenity, Satan worship, and lewdness towards students. We firmly reject all acts of violence and intimidation towards our students.”

The woman who organized 40 Days For Life said that while she was expecting a strong response, she never thought it would go this far.

“They say to us, ‘We hope you get raped,’ ‘We hope you die,’ ‘Your mother should’ve aborted you,’ and every cuss word that you can imagine,” she said. “It’s just so, so violent, so dark.”

One of the other pro-life students recalled how they responded when a man exposed himself to them.

“We were just silently praying here on the corner and this man — it’s a stoplight and it’s red — and he exposes himself to us,” she said. “One of us was a minor … It’s just insane.”

Police were called four different times by the pro-life students, and while they responded to make sure nobody was in danger, it does not appear that any arrests were made.

Pro-Lifers Fight Hate With Love

Liberals are constantly claiming to be against hate, which makes the amount of hatred spewed at these young pro-life students all the more disturbing.

Lindsey explained that in contrast to those who oppose them, they do not harass the women walking into Planned Parenthood at all. They say, “We love you and there are other options, and that we have resources and will support you.”

What happened to these students who are just trying to speak up for the rights of unborn babies is appalling. It’s despicable that liberals have taken their quest to support abortions so far that this kind of behavior is tolerated by the pro-choice faction.

We also applaud the pro-life students for taking the high road and fighting the hate that they receive with love. They were clearly raised well by parents who have good Christian values. Hopefully, they won’t let the radical left pressure them to stop fighting for the rights of the unborn.
