Jane Fonda Refuses To Stop Climate Change Rallies Despite Coronavirus – ‘Our Movement Is Not Slowing Down’

Actress Jane Fonda just announced that she will not not stop her weekly climate change rallies despite the world being rocked by a deadly pandemic. The very protests that lead to her being arrested multiple times over the past few months will be moving online, according to Greenpeace.

That’s right, folks, Fonda intends to use critical internet bandwidth so that her and all of her climate change friend can gather online for Fire Drill Fridays. Obviously, this Academy Award Winning actress has her priorities straight.

Jane Fonda Continues Her Climate Rallies

The Wrap [1] reported that Fonda will begin hosting monthly rallies online demanding that lawmakers pass the Green New Deal, end new fossil fuels, and shift to a renewable economy.

The “Grace and Frankie” actress said that she will be incorporating the coronavirus into her rally calls. Fonda claims the pandemic serves to showcase the failings of America’s healthcare system and social safety net:

“We may be staying home, and yes, we must stay home, but we will never stop speaking out about the climate crisis and demanding our leadership take action. And while you are quarantined at home, we hope you will join us virtually because our movement is not slowing down. The rapid spread of the novel coronavirus in America has exposed the catastrophic weaknesses in our healthcare system and social safety net. Our government must support those suffering from the triple threat of COVID-19, the climate crisis, and a looming recession by investing in an economy beyond fossil fuels. Whether you are new to this conversation or are already invested in combating this crisis — we need you and we hope you will join us.”

Jane Fonda Hosting Kickoff Event March 27

A kickoff event for the transition online is set to take place on Friday, March 27th at 2pm EST. At the kickoff, Fonda will engage in a Q&A session with Sen. Ed Markey (D-Massachusetts) about how to best reach representatives while in quarantine.

Then the first virtual rally will then take place the next Friday on April 3rd. There Fonda will be joined by various activists for a youth-themed rally in conjunction with #CAYouthVsBigOil State tour.

“While everyone at home is just trying to survive this crisis, the oil and gas industry is using a pandemic as an opportunity to steal whatever they can,” said Greenpeace USA executive director Annie Leonard. “We deserve a world beyond fossil fuels: a world in which workers’ rights, community health, and our shared climate come before corporate profits. Right now we have an unprecedented chance to lay the groundwork.”

Let’s Focus On Fighting Coronavirus, Not Climate Change

Our nation is facing a massive crisis right now that has absolutely nothing to do with climate change.

If Fonda insists on flexing her activist muscles during this time, she should be putting climate change aside to encourage her fans to unify to fight coronavirus.

This just shows once again that Fonda is just another narcissistic Hollywood nitwit. The priority seems to be garnering attention for herself rather than about actually helping the world at large.

Just remember tomorrow if your kids can’t access school online, it’s probably because Fonda and her Fire Drill Friday friends are hogging the internet.

This the exact type of self-serving nonsense the world does not need right now. Don’t you agree?
