Conor McGregor Donates To Families Of First Responders

Conor McGregor [1] is sharing his wealth with the world.

The former UFC champion has donated $1 million to a New York Foundation that helps support the families of first responders in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

McGregor, born in Ireland, is coming off a convincing victory over Donald Cerrone this past January. He has been rumored for a summer bout with Justin Gaethje [6], while also a future rematch with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. [7]

“I have always had deep respect for first responders who are not only selfless but also fearless in performing their duties,” McGregor said in an interview with The Post [8]. “They are willing to risk it all for perfect strangers.

“We are so proud to partner with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor these proper heroes. The foundation’s goal is to ensure stability and security for these families facing sudden tragic loss.”

The donation is being given to New York’s Steven Siller Tunnel to Tower Foundation. The group supports families of firefighters and law enforcement officials who were killed in the line of duty across the United States.

The non-profit honors Siller, who gave his life to save others during the attacks of September 11.

“A tremendous thank you to Conor McGregor and his Proper No. Twelve Whiskey for the generous donation of $1 million to Tunnel 2 Towers,” the social media page for the organization posted. “McGregor hopes to inspire others to join our cause and we’re honored to have him with us as we support our nation’s greatest heroes.”

Donations came from McGregor offering $5 for every case of his Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey that was sold.

McGregor plans to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland on March 17 despite Dublin cancelling the planned parade.

When asked about his future fight plans, McGregor only said to stay tuned .
