Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo meet this Saturday night at UFC Norfolk for the vacant flyweight title.
The bout airs live on ESPN+ from the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. It marks the second event in Norfolk, with the first taking place in 2017 and featuring Dustin Poirier vs. Anthony Pettis.
Henry Cejudo vacated the title late in December due to injury and to focus on his bantamweight title defense.
Benavidez, a 35-year-old former title contender, has reeled off three consecutive wins since a split decision loss in early 2018. That includes a finish of Jussier Formiga and a decision over Dustin Ortiz last year.
In 2016, Benavidez bested Cejudo via split decision as part of a six-fight win streak. That run started after a 2013 loss to Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title.
The 32-year-old Figueiredo is 17-1 overall and coming off wins over Tim Elliott and Alexandre Pantoja. He suffered his first career loss in early 2019 vs. Formiga, ending a 15-fight win streak.
