Prince Harry and Meghan Markle $25m taxpayer funded Canada lifestyle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find themselves in hot water once again this week, with royal experts blasting them for their “unsustainable” security plans and lifestyle once in Canada. The experts also warn that the couple’s jet-setting intentions could quickly “spiral out of control” and cost taxpayers upwards of $26 million a year.

Harry And Meghan’s Jet-Setting Lifestyle Will ‘Strain’ Resources

Royal experts told Daily Mail that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s plan to move to Canada and start a jet-setting lifestyle of traveling all over the globe could overwhelm their security services.

“The cost of security was always going to be a major problem for Harry and Meghan and it doesn’t surprise me that the bill seems to be going up and up,” said Phil Dampier, a journalist and expert on the British Royal family who’s covered them for the last 33 years.

“The traveling they do around North America is going to put an immense strain on resources as both they and their son Archie need to be protected 24/7 and Scotland Yard detectives will tend to work shifts of two weeks on two weeks off.”

“If you add the costs of them having to travel to and from the UK for leave it could spiral out of control and become absolutely ridiculous. So in the long term I don’t think it is sustainable,” Dampier continued.

Taxpayers Could Be Forced To Pay Millions

British taxpayers currently pay the equivalent of $780,000 for the couple’s security. But that number is expected to dramatically increase when Harry and Meghan move to Canada.

Dampier, who wrote the book “Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in Their Own Words,” went on to say that Canadians are also becoming weary about the move.

“Even the Canadians who are welcoming hosts are starting to query the costs to their police force of protecting them,” he said. “I think it’s a massive headache and if they are not going to be doing duties in the UK it’s extremely hard to justify.”

Dai Davies, former Met protection officer, offered similar comments. Davies says that the couple’s plan call for a “complete ripping up of the rule book’.

“In their current state the plans are unworkable,” Davies told The Mirror. “There is already a severe lack of trained officers and this is only adding to the Met’s woes.”

$26 Million Taxpayer Bill

Some are estimating that Prince Harry and Meghan’s taxpayer-funded security bill could soar to $26 million a year, which is a hefty ask to say the least.

Many feel that Harry and Meghan have handled their departure from the royal family poorly and selfishly from the very beginning. They have shown little regard for anyone else. And that list includes the Queen, the rest of Harry’s family, and the taxpayers in both the U.K. and Canada.

Frankly, they shouldn’t be benefiting from taxpayer dollars if the two have stepped away from their royal duties.

Harry and Meghan wanted their independence, so let them out in the world to fend for themselves.

No taxpayer deserves to be funding the lifestyles of the rich and hypocritical famous.
