Neil Young Trump

Legendary Canadian-American rock star Neil Young just penned an open letter to Donald Trump in which he made it clear that he is no fan of the President, telling him directly, “You are a disgrace to my country.”

Neil Young Blasts Trump In Open Letter

Singer-songwriter Neil Young, who hails originally from Canada, posted the fiery open letter to his website.

The scathing message comes just one month after the “Heart of Gold” singer revealed that he is now a citizen of the United States who plans to vote Democrat, according to Fox News.

In his open letter, the 74-year-old expressed his support for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and for former President Barack Obama.

“Your mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment and our relationships with friends around the world is unforgivable. Your policies, decisions and short term thinking continue to exacerbate the Climate Crisis. Our first black president was a better man than you are,” Young wrote.

The rocker continued the letter:

“US justice is ours — not yours[.] One of your opponents has answers I like. He is aiming at preserving our children’s future directly. He is not popular with the democratic establishment because unlike all the other candidates, he is not pandering to the industries accelerating Earth’s Climate Disaster, the end of the world as we know it. he is truly fighting for the USA. His initials are BS (Bernie Sanders). Not his policies. We are going to vote you out and Make America Great Again.”

“I hope you hear my voice,” Young wrote, referring to Trump playing his music at his rallies. “Remember it is the voice of a tax-paying US citizen who does not support you. Me.”

This Isn’t His First Attack

Back in 2015, Neil Young expressed his anger at Trump for using his song “Rockin’ in the Free World”. But the President’s campaign responded that they had paid to use the song.

“DT does not have my permission to use the song ‘Rockin’ In The Free World’ at his appearances,” Young said, according to Rolling Stone. “Legally, he has the right to, however it goes against my wishes.”

“Through a licensing agreement with ASCAP, Mr. Trump’s campaign paid for and obtained the legal right to use Neil Young’s recording of ‘Rockin’ In The Free World,'” said Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski at the time. “Nevertheless, there are plenty of other songs to choose from. Despite Neil’s differing political views, Mr. Trump likes him very much.”

Someone should remind Neil Young that his fans are only interested in his music, not in his political opinions.

We don’t need to know who Young supports politically, and we certainly don’t need him telling us how to vote.
