If there is one thing true about social media, it is that fans are given some pretty nice insider access to the lives of athletes.

That is especially true with MMA, as many of the top fighters from around the world use Instagram to keep fans in the know.

My heart was really sore when this photo was taken. I’m wearing a robe that Natasha Kingsbury gave to me. Which makes this photo really symbolic of our friendship.

This robe is the warmest & softest thing that I own. (& I’m often cold & can’t get warm enough.) Ever since she gave it to me I pretty much just wear it over my clothes at the house because it’s not only so comfy but it keeps me so warm. Her friendship has kept me warm in times that my soul felt it was growing cold. In times that it couldn’t find comfort.

I had a ceremony once where I was a snowflake and it symbolized my soul being cold and needing warmth… I was floating thru the sky & i hit a few heaters that represented Tom Shadyac & Natasha & a few others & with each hit my soul warmed up. Natasha is a heater. She warms the souls around her.

She has kept me warm through how gracious she is in our friendship, through how she loves my children & teaches me patience in motherhood, in how she feeds us as if we are family, in how she has let me even stay in her house when I didn’t want to be home. She is a conscious seeker. I never have to sift or filter my words around her, because I trust she’ll do it for me with out judgement. She sets connection as her priority in her parenting, & I often think about how different life would be if we all were raised by mothers like her.

My goal is to get warm enough to where I am also the one giving out the warmth. To get to a place in life where I have more than enough to give. I think that’s true abundance- always having enough to share. That’s the mindset she lives in, & it’s changed my life.

Thank you Tash for being my teacher. Happy birthday week. You are one of a kind. I can’t wait to watch wolf be born in your home. Another unforgettable experience you’re offering me. What a year you have coming. What amazing souls you’re bringing up in this world. Im honored to be alongside you in your journey. Thank you for being a giant heater. Your heart & soul are an XL robe that smell like frankincense & myrrh.
