‘I Still Believe’ Starring Gary Sinise Marks Huge First For Christian Movies

Gary Sinise’s Christian movie I Still Believe hasn’t even been released yet and it’s already setting records. It will be the first faith-based film to be shown in IMAX format. That’s a huge investment signaling industry expectations that this Christian movie by the same people who brought us I Can Only Imagine will be a tremendous success.

Moviegoers have been clamoring for Christian options on the big screen. In 2018, I Can Only Imagine hauled in over $17 million just in its opening weekend. The film was predicted to bring in $2 to $8 million overall.

That prediction was smashed within just days of its release. Movie producers took notice and Lionsgate’s I Still Believe is poised to make even more than its blockbuster predecessor. They are so confident that they are investing in IMAX.

KJ Apa Stars As Jeremy Camp In I Still Believe

The movie focuses on popular Christian singer Jeremy Camp’s relationship with Melissa Henning, who became his first wife.

Their faith was tested shortly after the start of their relationship when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  She passed away just four months after they were married.

Camp did not allow the tragedy to destroy his faith. I Still Believe, which opens in theaters March 13th, is a story of love, loss, and life after loss. Faith remains the center of Jeremy Camp’s life.

The movie’s website states it’s “From the makers of I Can Only Imagine, comes the true life story of Christian music mega star Jeremy Camp and his remarkable journey of love and loss that proves there is always hope in the midst of tragedy and that faith tested is the only faith worth sharing.”

Teen heartthrob KJ Apa, best known from the hit show “Riverdale” will play Camp. The decision to cast Apa as Camp and bring in Britt Robertson as Melissa provides two instantly recognizable faces sure to draw in younger audiences.

Gary Sinise And Shania Twain Portray Jeremy Camp’s Parents

Gary Sinise’s presence in the movie is likely to draw in even more moviegoers than the typical Christian film. The actor who’s breakthrough role was Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump uses his celebrity platform to help Veterans. Working tirelessly to raise awareness about protecting and honoring those who put their lives on the line for us.

Sinise and superstar country artist Shania Twain portray Jeremy Camp’s parents in I Still Believe.

BACKSTORY: Gary Sinise and Shania Twain Bring Star Power To New Christian Movie I Still Believe

The award winning Christian singer says I Still Believe “tells my story and shares what God has done amidst all the hard things I went through. It shows hope in the midst of pain.”

Given that this movie of Jeremy Camp’s story stars Gary Sinise and will be shown in IMAX theaters, it has the makings of a true blockbuster.

We hope that audiences turn out in droves to make this film an even bigger success than its phenomenal predecessor I Can Only Imagine.
