Dog The Bounty Hunter confesses full story behind proposal to Moon Angell

A few weeks ago, Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman shocked fans when he proposed to his son’s ex-girlfriend Moon Angell on “The Dr. Oz Show” just months after the death of his beloved wife, Beth. After the full episode aired, it was touted as just a “test”. But now, Dog is coming clean about the full story behind his proposal.

The Truth Behind Dog The Bounty Hunter’s Proposal To Moon Angell

Dog The Bounty Hunter admitted in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight that he proposed to Angell because he is feeling “very lonesome” after losing Beth. Dog’s 5th wife, Beth Chapman, died in June after losing her fight with throat cancer that spread to her lungs. The couple had been married for 13 years.

The 67-year-old bounty hunter then explains how Angell is someone he came to lean on after the death of his wife, who took care of everything for him.

“I am very lonesome,” Dog said. “[Moon] knew Beth. And she talked about Beth constantly, ‘Remember what Beth used to tell us,’ and of course I would light right up when she’d say that. I was infatuated with a dream.”

Dog has been very open about the fact that he is struggling without Beth.

“Oh, I miss her,” he said. “Eight months, that’s the worst part, it seems like yesterday and they say ‘time heals all wounds.’ No, it doesn’t.”

Dog Relies On Moon Angell

Dog The Bounty Hunter has been relying on Moon Angell and his family to get through this difficult time.

“She still works for me, and takes care of the finances,” he said of Angell. “I kind of embarrassed her a little bit and I shouldn’t have.”

Dog also opened up about the now-infamous proposal.

“I swear on my mama and on Beth that [the Dr. Oz proposal] was not rehearsed,” he said. “And you saw Dr. Oz was even like, ‘Oh my god.’ I knew I was gonna do it way before I done it, and I said, ‘This will stop these rumors.'”

Though Dog and Angell are just close friends for now, he is not ruling out something more serious in the future.

“Yes, I am going to be honest with you, brother,” he said of the relationship. “Yeah, I think I would have because it was more accessible.”

Beth Chapman Made Dog Promise To Never Remarry

Dog has previously said that Beth made him promise before her death that he would not remarry.

“For two to three years, she knew this might happen,” Dog told Entertainment Tonight last year. “So she would say, ‘Who is going to sit next to you?’ And I said, ‘No one.’”

When she said, “Big Daddy, you better not let another girl take my place,” he promised, “I won’t.”
