Change WrestleMania Match?

Change To WrestleMania Title Match?

Rhea Ripley at WWE Survivor Series

The ongoing feud between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley appears to be adding a third dancing partner.

Likely based on the success of WrestleMania 35’s main event featuring Flair, Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch last year, WWE officials are tinkering with the idea of bringing in Bianca Belair to the upcoming bout.

Flair made her return to NXT Wednesday night, competing for the first time in four years. She earned a win over Belair with her Natural Selection.

After the bout, Flair continued to attack Belair with a steel chair, targeting the ankle before applying the figure four. Ripley eventually made her way to the ring as Flair departed before any more damage could be done.

According to PW Insider Elite’s Mike Johnson, there are plans in motion to bring in Belair for the WrestleMania 36 NXT women’s championship match between Ripley and Flair.

“This is not a one and done with the Bianca/Charlotte rivalry,” Johnson said (thanks to Ringside News for the quotes). “I am told that they will be going forward with Bianca in the mix leading up to WrestleMania. I don’t know if it’ll be a three-way match, but I do know that the Bianca stuff will be seen elsewhere other than NXT.”

AEW Signs Former WWE Wrestler

Lance Archer

All Elite Wrestling has announced the signing of Lance Archer to a multi-year deal.

Archer, a former WWE, TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling standout, is 43 years old. He competed for TNA from 2004-09, signing with the WWE and spending a year there. He was with New Japan Pro Wrestling for several years after that, winning both the IWGP United State titles and tag team belts.

“I’ve been in the business for almost half of my life, but with AEW, I’m setting my sights on the best chapter of my career so far,” Archer said in a press release. “This company champions the creative, competitive and electrifying environment that I’ve been waiting for my whole career.

“No matter where I go, no matter who steps in front of me, I’m the one you should be afraid of at AEW.”

Tony Khan, the president and CEO of AEW, said of Archer that he is “explosive, dynamic and unpredictable, making him perfect for AEW.

“He’s made his mark in every corner of the world,” Khan continued. “He’s brutal, colorful and will be a factor the minute he steps into the ring.”
