Women across the world are swooning after watching a viral wedding proposal video. Lee Loechler went to great lengths to make it a special event for his longtime girlfriend Sthuthi David. It took six months and finding the perfect animator to recreate a scene from Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” in which to pop the big question.
Disney Princess Wedding Proposal
This video does not disappoint. Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” is one of Sthuthi’s favorite movies. So Lee had the scene where Prince Phillip kisses Aurora personalized just for the couple’s special moment.
A camera was focused on the couple so that we can see Sthuthi’s reaction. At first, she looks confused when Aurora turned to her. And it just gets better from there when the ring is tossed to Lee from the movie screen.

Lee was so determined to make this the perfect proposal, that he started by following Disney art hashtags on Instagram. That’s how he found Kayla Coombs, an Australia based artist who created this masterpiece.
Lee worked with staff at the theater to make this dream become a reality. Unbeknownst to Sthuthi, the theater was packed with their family and friends who were there to share the very special moment with them.
“Anyone she might recognize was seated in the back few rows. I worked with the projectionist to make sure all ambient lighting would be off when she entered, to help conceal the familiar faces. Unfortunately, the projector was so bright that the light from the screen still illuminated the whole room. To combat this, we decided to show trailers ahead of the film, which we manually darkened so there wouldn’t be as much light spill onto the audience. So at 7:30 PM when we walked into the room together, it was nice and dark as we found our seats.”

A Wedding Proposal Six Months In The Making
“It’s not every day you get to propose to your High School sweetheart. For the past six months, I’ve been working with an illustrator to animate my girlfriend and myself into her favorite movie, Sleeping Beauty,” Lee wrote on YouTube when posting the video. “On 12/30/19 I popped the question in a theater filled with our friends and family.”
There is a reason this proposal video has over 5.6 million views. It will absolutely melt your heart! Lee wanted to move heaven and earth for Sthuthi – and it worked!
