There were a lot of interesting takeaways from UFC 246, and Conor McGregor’s pivotal victory. But one of the more intriguing storylines to emerge from the star’s triumphant return, was his effective use of shoulder strikes.

Watch McGregor rock Cerrone with shoulder strikes in slo-mo

Recently the UFC released the “Fight Motion” video for the January 18th card, which features slow-motion highlights from the event. Not surprisingly, footage of McGregor cracking Cerrone with shoulder strikes was included. As you can see by watching the video below, after McGregor dazed “Cowboy” with the techniques, he followed up with a well-placed knee and then a head kick.

The highly anticipated fight ended in just 40 seconds.

What’s next for McGregor?

Since McGregor’s big win, there’s been no shortage of talk about when and who the star will fight next. UFC President Dana White has said McGregor fighting the winner of the April 18th bout between lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson makes the most sense. McGregor, however, has relayed he doesn’t want to wait out that long before fighting again.
