Tony Khan A GENIUS

Tony Khan Taking Larger Role In AEW Creative

Tony Khan AEW Creative

Mistakes happen, especially when trying to run a pro wrestling business with no experience. For All Elite Wrestling (AEW) President Tony Khan, he is learning from those around him that know the sport. Therefore, Khan is apparently taking a larger role in creative.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the show from Corpus Christi is the major reason for the change. That was the final AEW Dynamite episode of 2019 and it did not receive the best reviews. The conclusion, saw Dark Order take out members of The Elite as some unfamiliar names joined the stable.

The report continued “you can see more seeds of long-term planning and layers in storylines, like in the four team tag match and other angles. But, that’s also related to all involved.”

AEW recently signed a longer deal that will see them produce more content on TV. With the extra time, it allows AEW more time to invest in storylines.

This is not the first time a huge name in AEW has criticized the product. AEW World Champion Chris Jericho mentioned how he held a backstage meeting with his peers. He pointed out some holes in the product, such as wrestlers not tag in and out of the ring.

When it pertains to the ratings, AEW Dynamite has been beating NXT most of the time. When it comes to key demographics, AEW typically gets the nod over NXT.

The Rock’s Tribute To His Father, Rock Johnson

On January 15, the wrestling world lost Rocky Johnson. “Soulman” passed away at the age of 75 from two blood clots.

Johnson is part of history, becoming the first black champion in WWE. He won the World Tag Team Championship with Tony Atlas in 1983.

While the younger generation might not be too familiar with the WWE Hall of Famer’s work, they certainly know his son; the Rock.

The Rock’s Message

You broke color barriers, became a ring legend and trail blazed your way thru this world.

I was the boy sitting in the seats, watching and adoring you, my hero from afar.

The boy you raised to always be proud of our cultures and proud of who and what I am.

The boy you raised with the toughest of love.

The intense work.

The hard hand.

The adoring boy who wanted to know only your best qualities.

Who then grew to become a man realizing you had other deeply complicated sides that needed to be held and understood.

Son to father.

Man to man.

That’s when my adoration turned to respect.

And my empathy turned to gratitude.

Grateful that you gave me life.

Grateful you gave me life’s invaluable lessons.

Dad, I wish I had one more shot to tell you, I love you, before you crossed over to the other side.

But you were ripped away from me so fast without warning.

Gone in an instant and no coming back.

Im in pain.

But we both know it’s just pain and it’ll pass.

Now I’ll carry your mana and work ethic with me, as it’s time to move on because I have my family to feed and work to accomplish.

Finally, I want you to rest your trailblazing soul, Soulman.

Pain free, regret free, satisfied and at ease.

You lived a very full, very hard, barrier breaking life and left it all in the ring.

I love you dad and I’ll always be your proud and grateful son.

Go rest high.
